Chi

Wind and Water are representations of Chi. Both these forces, Wind and Water can be gentle and meandering, rough and ferocious or even stagnant.

These are Unseen and Seen Energy. We affect change in our seen (physical) environment which impacts on the quality of our lives, the unseen environment.

In our modern society where roads are our major means of commuting and the necessity to locate our homes near roads is greater than to be near water, especially as we have the ability to pump and pipe water where ever we choose, we liken our roadways to waterways, the speed and volume of traffic determines the quality of the Chi.

Ideally Chi flow is not so strong as to be uncomfortable like the strong Westerlies that those of us in Brisbane associate with the EKKA or the raging river in flood that spills over its' banks and sweeps away everything in its path.

Stagnant Chi is also destructive and maybe even less desirable than overly strong Chi as it creeps up on us un-noticed, often for many years and we are not consciously even aware of its presence! A disused car park doesn't appear to be causing any major challenges. The musty smell in the air of a room that hasn't been opened in a long time. Both these are representations of slow decay which are ignored, they don't appear to be an immediate threat. Over the long term however the harm/damage challenging to overcome, the threat doesn't necessitate immediate action, there is always tomorrow and other things seem more urgent.

The calm before the storm may be ominous but it prepares us for what is to come. We get into action.

Ideally we encourage meandering Chi to enter our Homes. A Spring breeze that freshens and enlivens. A balance between that strong breeze that causes doors to slam and the oppressive still heat of February when every movement attempt is a test of will.

Chi that is traveling rapidly towards our doors, such as a major intersection, where one road meets another and that forms a T is not desirable and this tends to be symbolic of the inhabitants lives who are usually busy dealing with a variety of challenges one after the other.

The quality of Chi is also important, an environment that has wide streets and beautiful gardens is far more pleasing than the neighbourhood with narrow streets blocked with parked cars, daggy front yards, paint peeling off letterboxes and illegible house numbers. Environments with Chi conducive to Balance, Harmony and Prosperity are those that are clean and vibrant, that lift our energy and that we are drawn to want to spend time in.
The quality of the Chi where we spend our time directly reflects in our enjoyment of, and our ability to lead a life that flows.

The Classic Configuration, Foundation Principals and Core Concepts applied together all contribute to assisting us to maximize the quality of the Chi we surround ourselves with.
